Hill's FAB Club Terms & Conditions
  1. To participate in the Hill's Pet Nutrition South Africa (Pty) Ltd (“Hill's Pet Nutrition”) FAB Club Programme (the “FAB Programme”), the applicant must be a permanent employee of a veterinary practice or pet specialty shop that operates within South Africa, Namibia or Botswana. Veterinary practices or pet specialty shops based in South Africa, Namibia or Botswana may also participate as outlets in the FAB Programme. eCommerce Outlets are not eligible to participate in the FAB Programme.
  2. The FAB Programme is designed to reward and motivate individual staff members. Should outlets not allow this, then points will not be awarded. FAB Points may not be redeemed for the outlet owner, outlet manager or practice manager's personal benefit and/or use.
    FAB Points are allocated to individual outlet staff members and not to the outlet, unless stipulated in the FAB Programme that the Points are for the outlet. Under special circumstances, an outlet may agree with Hill's Pet Nutrition that FAB Points can be grouped together and distributed at the outlet's discretion back to staff members.
  3. FAB Club Points (“the FAB Points”) are awarded at the sole discretion of Hill's Pet Nutrition, based on the activities listed on this website and for any other activity Hill's Pet Nutrition deems acceptable.
  4. When an outlet has redeemed FAB Points on behalf of the individual outlet staff members, these individuals must be notified by the outlet that any rewards redeemed using FAB Points have been awarded by Hill's Pet Nutrition.
  5. For an individual staff member to participate in the FAB Programme and redeem his/her FAB Points, the staff member will be required to have registered on www.HillsFab.co.za website using the link and login details provided with a valid & unique email address to each staff member.
  6. If the individual staff member has not yet registered, they need to follow these steps:
    Send an email to [email protected] with the subject line “Update my email details” and include your:
    • Title and full name
    • Outlet name
    • Unique FAB email address - this must be a private email address that only you have access to
    • Agreement to receive emails from Hill's
    Once your details are updated, you will receive your FAB Club registration email within a week.
  7. For an outlet to redeem its FAB Points, the outlet will need to assign one staff member to register the outlet, using a valid and unique email address and further manage the FAB Points earned by the outlet.
  8. An individual staff member or outlets FAB Points that have been earned can be viewed at any time by visiting www.HillsFab.co.za. Please note that FAB Points earned that have recently been submitted may not be captured yet.
  9. The FAB Point balances indicated on this website are valid as at the date indicated but may not include points awarded that have not yet been captured by Hill's Pet Nutrition.
  10. Where an individual outlet staff member or staff member responsible for the outlet points does not have a valid and unique email address, that person can contact Hill's Pet Nutrition and a Hill's Pet Nutrition representative will redeem the FAB Points on their behalf.
  11. The FAB Points are earned in FAB periods which run annually from 1 September to 31 August of the following year (“FAB Period”).
  12. The FAB Points earned during each FAB Period may be redeemed at any time during the FAB Period but no later than 1 December after the end of that FAB period whereafter they will expire. No carry-over of the FAB Points from one period to the next is allowed and it is the responsibility of the staff member to check their points balance and claim timeously.
  13. FAB Rewards can only be ordered to the maximum value of the FAB Points balance currently reflecting on the website.
    FAB Rewards shall include but not be limited to:
    • Vouchers from the following retailers or outlets - Woolworths, TakeALot, Sorbet, Ster Kinekor, Spur, Pick 'n Pay, Exclusive Books.
    • Gifts comprising the following products - Assortment of stationery, License Disk Holder, Cage Card, Earbud Speakers, Mug, Lunch Bags, Clothing Apparel, Water Bottle, Laptop bags, Speaker.
    • Pet food - Hill's Science Plan.
  14. If you wish to change your order after you have submitted it to the website, please contact [email protected] immediately. However, Hill's Pet Nutrition cannot guarantee that we will be able to amend your order in accordance with your instructions.
  15. If an individual outlet staff member moves to a new outlet, the FAB Points earned during that FAB Period will get transferred to their new profile at their new outlet. If the staff member leaves the industry (Veterinary practice or pet specialty shop), the FAB Points will get transferred to the outlet that they were employed at.
  16. The FAB Points or FAB Rewards are not exchangeable for cash or alternatives, in whole or in part. The prize does not include any other costs or expenses relating to the FAB Reward or the enjoyment of the FAB Reward not expressly specified in these Terms & Conditions.. There is no cash or other alternative to the prizes Save for as expressly set out in these Terms & conditions, the FAB Points or Rewards are not transferable.
    The paragraph above has important legal consequences for you. In this paragraph:
    • various costs, losses, damages, expenses and taxes that are not included in the FAB Reward are set out;
    • the responsibilities and liability of Hill's Pet Nutrition are excluded or limited; and
    • the redeemer of the FAB Points and/or Rewards takes on various responsibilities and liability.
    By participating in the FAB Programme, you agree to these limits and exclusions from the FAB Points and/or FAB Rewards. You also agree that if you are the participant in the FAB Programme or redeemer of the FAB Points and/or FAB Rewards, then you will have the responsibilities and liability listed in this paragraph.
  17. Hill's Pet Nutrition reserves the right to amend the FAB Points redemption value of the FAB Rewards at any time at its discretion, without notification to the members of the FAB Programme.
  18. Images of the FAB Rewards shown on this website may vary slightly from the actual reward item.
  19. The FAB Rewards will be delivered to the outlet that the member is currently registered to be employed at or to the email address provided, in the case of an online voucher. Delivery may take up to 4 weeks from order date.
  20. Hill's Pet Nutrition reserves the right to offer alternatives if any FAB Rewards shown on this website become unavailable.
  21. Cancellation and amendment: Hill's Pet Nutrition reserves the right, acting reasonably, to cancel or amend the FAB Programme due to events or circumstances arising beyond its control or at its discretion which prevent Hill's Pet Nutrition from conducting the FAB Programme as intended, without accruing any liability for the FAB Points earned but not claimed. You are entitled to withdraw from the FAB Programme if you do not agree with any amendments made by Hill's Pet Nutrition. As far as the law allows, if Hill's Pet Nutrition cancels the FAB Programme or amends these Terms & Conditions, you will have no claim against Hill's Pet Nutrition.
  22. Participant's warranties: You represent and warrant that the information provided is true and accurate.
  23. No warranties and exclusion of liability: As far as the law allows, and subject to paragraph 33:
    (i)    all warranties and representations in relation to the FAB Programme, FAB Points and/or FAB Rewards not set out in these Terms & Conditions (whether express, implied or tacit) are hereby excluded;
    (ii)    Hill's Pet Nutrition, their associated companies, and their respective directors, officers, employees and agents will not be liable for any loss or damage, whether direct, indirect, consequential or otherwise, arising from any cause which may be suffered as a result of participating in the FAB Programme, the provision or use of the FAB Points and/or FAB Rewards, or any act or omission of any other person.
    This clause 27 does not purport to limit or exempt Hill's Pet Nutrition for any loss directly or indirectly attributable to their gross negligence or that of any person acting for or controlled by them.
    The paragraph above has important consequences for you. In this paragraph:
    • the legal responsibilities and liability of Hill's Pet Nutrition and other persons are excluded or limited;
    • the rights you have against Hill's Pet Nutrition are limited or excluded; and
    • you take on the responsibility and liability for certain losses or damages or events that might happen.
    You participate in the FAB Program and accept and enjoy the FAB Points and/or FAB Rewards knowing and accepting that these things can go wrong and that there are risks.
  24. Personal information: By participating in the FAB Programme, you consent to the collection, use, storage, disclosure and processing of your personal information by Hill's Pet Nutrition for a reasonable period for the purposes of administering the FSB Programme, providing the FAB Point and FAB Rewards and other activities as contemplated in these Terms & Conditions. The types of personal information that Hill's Pet Nutrition may collect includes information necessary for its legitimate business interests and the categories of personal information identified in relevant data protection laws in South Africa. This may include your name, identity number, e-mail, physical and postal addresses, contact information, and other information you provide when entering and participating in the FAB Programme.
    Hill's Pet Nutrition may use your personal information:
    (i)    to update Hill's Pet Nutrition's existing records;
    (ii)    for the purpose of administering consumer relations; and
    (iii)    to make information available on future programmes, competitions or promotions which Hill's Pet Nutrition may conduct.
    Your personal information will also be collected, used, stored, disclosed, processed and deleted in accordance with the Hill's Pet Nutrition's Privacy Policy which is accessible at https://www.hillspet.co.za
  25. Publicity: The participants of the FAB Promotion will participate in all required publicity, including any presentation ceremony and any other promotional purpose required by Hill's Pet Nutrition (for example, filming at the outlets) for 7 years after the Promotion closing date. Each participant has the right to decline this by notifying Hill's Pet Nutrition.
  26. The decision of Hill's Pet Nutrition in all matters is final and binding on you and no correspondence will be entered into.
  27. Law and jurisdiction: These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by the laws of South Africa. The participant consents to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the High Court (Western Cape High Court, Cape Town) in respect of all matters arising out of or in connection with the Promotion or these Terms & Conditions.
  28. Severability: If any provision of these rules is found to be invalid or unenforceable by any court of competent jurisdiction, then that provision shall be severed from these Terms & Conditions and shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any remaining provisions.
  29. Consumer Protection Act: It is not intended that any provision of these Terms & Conditions contravenes any provision of the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008, and therefore all provisions of these rules must be treated as being qualified, if necessary, to ensure that the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act are complied with.
  30. Participation in the FAB Programme constitutes acceptance of the terms and conditions.
